The Public School brings you Ambivalence every Sunday of February starting at 3pm.

A course on Ambivalence that will meet simultaneously in two places – the Municipal Art Gallery and Telic Arts Exchange in Chinatown (where The Public School regularly holds classes). Each group will be able to see and hear the other through a commonplace video conference call. Teachers and guest presenters will go to whichever location seems more appealing that day and no one will be informed of their decision until the last minute. Readings will be assigned.

  1. Nicola Atkinson Does Fly Says:

Cup Thoughts 101- brings together people in two very separate places, Los Angeles US and Lidköping, Sweden, around the social institution of taking coffee.

The 101 participants in Lidköping were asked to think of a person in
Los Angeles to drink from the same coffee cup (to be washed of
course). Some of the participants wanted a person just like themselves
in Los Angeles, imagining what it might to be like to be there, while
others were quite particular: a male vegan with a beautiful mustache,
a social psychologist, a jazz musician, an environmentalist, a
fisherman, a music therapist, and many were just open to someone new
and unknown. As might be expected, Nicola did receive four requests
for famous people: Clint Eastwood, Sam Elliot, Sam Harris and Kat von
    D.
